About The Big Blue Clipper Boat

Founded in 1996 by legendary yachtsman Sir Robin Knox-Johnson, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race allows amateur sailors – even those with no previous experience – to join the 40,000 nautical mile ocean race.

Our crew of 65 men and women represents 18 nations and ranges from 26 years to 75, and we are led by skipper Dan Bodey and AQP (Additional Qualified Person) Laura Hampton.

The Supporters

We are lucky to be surrounded by a fantastic group of supporters – friends, family and colleagues – who have given time, love and encouragement to the crew and each other as we embark upon this extraordinary adventure.

Raising money for UNICEF

UNICEF is the charity partner of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and we are proud to be sailing in her colours. UNICEF works across the globe to save children’s lives, defend their rights and help them to fulfil their potential. We want our voyage to help highlight the impact and importance of UNICEF’s mission and encourage you to join us in contributing to its work for every child, everywhere.
